Why do I need credentials to share on my client’s Instagram account?
Instagram has a restricted API - it doesn't allow any third party tool (like SocialPilot) to directly publish posts on it.
So, SocialPilot has come up with the push notifications and Insta reminders to help you schedule/publish posts for Instagram. When you schedule an Instagram post in SocialPilot, you'll receive a push notification for your post exactly when you have scheduled it for. The notification takes you into your Instagram app from where you can publish the post.
If the same procedure is used for your clients' Instagram accounts, you need to be logged into their Instagram apps to publish the scheduled posts. You can't log into their Instagram app if you don't have the credentials. Hence, your clients need to share their Instagram credentials with you.
Note: If the client refuses to give you the credentials, you'll need to provide him/her with your SocialPilot account's login details. We do not recommend this as the client will then be able to access everything within your SocialPilot account. To make the process of Instagram scheduling easier, you will need your client's credentials to manage their Instagram accounts.
