Which URL Shortener can I Connect With SocialPilot?

You can use three URL shorteners with SocialPilot- Bitly, Rebrandly, and Sniply.

I Have Disabled URL Shortening But My Links Are Still Getting Shortened. Why?

To remove your default URL shortener,

  1. Go to Setup > URL Shortening.
  2. Navigate to your default URL Shortener and click on the little cross sign next to Default.

Now, your links won't be shortened anymore.

How to Disable URL Shortening?

To disable URL Shortening:

  1. Click on Setup -> URL Shortening
  2. Navigate to your default URL Shortener and click on the x mark next to Disconnect.

Your URL shortener will be disabled.

To disable URL shorteners through Manage Accounts for individual accounts, you can:

  1. Click on Accounts > Manage Accounts.
  2. Navigate to the account for which you want to remove the URL Shortener and click the Edit icon.

  1. You can remove the assigned URL Shortener here by clicking on the x mark next to the shortener.

How to Change the Already Assigned URL Shortener?

To change the already assigned URL Shortener:

  1. Click on Settings -> URL Shortening
  2. Navigate to the URL Shortener that you want to make as the Default. 
  3. You have the option of choosing the domain for your URL Shortener. Click on the 3-dots menu and click on Select as Default.

How to Shorten URLs in My Posts?

On SocialPilot, you have three URL shorteners - Sniply, Rebrandly, and Bitly.

Here is how you can shorten URLs using each of them on SocialPIlot:

  • Sniply
  1. Log into the SocialPilot panel.
  2. Select Settings > URL Shortening
  3. You'll see the 'connect URL Shortener' page.
  4. Click on the Sniply URL Shortener icon.

  5. It will take you to the login screen of Sniply. Log in with your Sniply credentials.
  6. As you log in, you will be redirected to your SocialPilot dashboard where all your accounts will be displayed.
  7. The call-to-action you created at Sniply will be displayed in the drop-down box. Select the call-to-action you want to add to the posts you share.
  8. Select the accounts you want to use Sniply for, add call-to-action on the link you share, and click on Apply button.

Now, whenever you post a link in the 'Create Post' section and select those accounts, it will automatically be shortened by Sniply and the call-to-action buttons you selected to for the links will also be added.

  • Rebrandly
  1. Login to the SocialPilot panel.
  2. Select Settings > URL Shortening
  3. You'll see the 'connect URL Shortener' page.
  4. Click on the Rebrandly URL Shortener icon

  5. It will take you to the login screen of Rebrandly. Log in with your Rebrandly credentials.
  6. As you log in, you will be redirected to your SocialPilot dashboard where all your accounts will be displayed.
  7. The domains, you created at Rebrandly will be displayed in the drop-down box. Select the domain you want to be used while shortening links
  8. Select the accounts for which you want to use Rebrandly along with your customized domain names and click on the Apply button.

Now, whenever you post a link in the 'Create Post' section and select those accounts, it will use Rebrandly to shorten the link along with your custom domains.

  • Bitly
  1. Login to the SocialPilot panel.
  2. Select Settings > URL Shortening
  3. You'll see the 'connect URL Shortener' page.
  4. Click on the Bitly URL Shortener icon.

  5. It will take you to the login screen of Bitly. Log in with your Bitly credentials.
  6. As the Bitly authentication page appears, click on Allow to give access.

The Bitly URL shortner will be connected.

Why Can't I Use URL Shortening for Pinterest?

Pinterest detects shortened URLs as spam. Hence, you can't publish posts with shortened URLs on Pinterest. To know more about you can click on this link.

How to Disable URL Shortening For a Specific Post?

SocialPilot enables you to selectively disable URL shortening for specific posts, even while keeping your default shortener active. All you have to do is keep the toggle switch OFF while creating your post.
