How to Setup White Label with SocialPilot?

White label is a key capability in SocialPilot, which allows users to rebrand the product and present it in the silhouette of their brand aesthetics. This, in turn, lets you give your clients a seamless experience as it's only your brand they see and not SocialPilot.

Under this customization, you can

  • Change the color scheme of the dashboard
  • Use your own logo
  • Use a custom fav icon
  • Add a custom domain
  • Add your own email
  • Rebrand the login page
  • Choose to add integrations from the given options.

To make things easier, we have developed our White label feature in a way that it can be set up requiring minimal technical assistance. White label is essential for users who want to market SocialPilot’s features as their own capabilities to clients and external stakeholders.

In this article, we’ll walk you through the complete process of setting up white label for your SocialPilot account.

How to Set Up White Label on SocialPilot?

All Ultimate plan users can access and use the White Label capabilities in SocialPilot. If you are a paid user under the plan, you can get the full experience of the feature. Trial users under the Ultimate plan can only change the colors and brand logo on the dashboard to get a preview of what the platform will look like rebranded.

However, to access White Label completely, you need to become a paid user under the Ultimate plan.

Branding

Here's how you can reconfigure SocialPilot to make it your own product.

  1. Log in to your SocialPilot account, click on the profile icon, and select White Label from the menu.

  2. The White Label page will open up at the first tab: Branding.
  3. First, add your brand's name, which must be under 50 characters
  4. Next, you can change the primary color, secondary color, and the color of the side navbar.

  5. Now upload your brand logo, which should be in PNG format, under 1 MB. The recommended dimensions are 170x40.
  6. Choose a file in ICO, PNG, under 100 KB. The recommended dimensions are 32x32.

  7. At last, upload an image for the login page in PNG, JPG, and WEBP format, under 3 MB. The recommended dimensions are 569x529.

  8. As you make the changes, they will be reflected in the preview window on the right side of the page. You can switch the tab in the preview to see the dashboard and login page.
  9. At last, click on Save in the top right corner of the screen.

If you are in trial with the Ultimate plan in SocialPilot, you can change only certain elements on the dashboard. This includes the primary, secondary, and side navbar colors as well as the brand logo

However, if you are a paid user or have upgraded to the paid subscription of the Ultimate plan, you can proceed to further customizations. Here are the following steps to achieve a complete white label setup.

Domain and Email

Here are the following steps to achieve a complete white label setup:

  1. Once you have completed the steps in the Branding tab, you can go to the next tab, Domain and Email
  2. Go to the first one, i.e., Custom Domain, add your domain link, and click on Verify

  3. A pop-up will appear under SSL Verification from where you’d have to add the given DNS records to your domain’s DNS settings.

  4. Once that’s done, return to the SocialPilot tab and click on Refresh. If all the details match, then you can proceed to the next step- Domain Redirection.
  5. Like before, you must add the records to your domain’s DNS settings.

  6. Once done, come back and click on Refresh again.

Note: This process takes a bit longer to complete, close to 15 minutes. You will have to check the status by clicking the Refresh button until you see it change from Pending to Verified.

  1. Now move to the next detail, Custom Email.
  2. Enter your custom email address and click on Verify.

  3. A pop-up will appear similar to one that appeared during domain verification. Now you have to add the given DNS records, i.e., the DKIM, Return Path, and DMARC (optional), to your domain’s DNS settings.

  4. Once you’ve added the details, click on Refresh. The verification might take some time to complete, but do not reload the page. Just keep checking by clicking the Refresh button.
  5. Once the custom email is verified, you can send a Test email to the same address.

  6. The last two fields, Terms & Conditions URL and Privacy Policy URL, are optional. So, you can add them if you have relevant links or skip them altogether.
  7. Once all of this is done, click on Save again.

Integrations

Under the White Label set-up, you can add two types of integrations to your app. They include Canva and Google Tag Manager.

Canva

To add Canva to your White Label App:

  1. Go to the White Label Settings page.
  2. Switch to the Integrations tab.
  3. Click on the checkbox beside Canva.

It’ll take around 1 to 2 business days for the integration to get activated.

Google Tag Manager

Integrating Google Tag Manager (GTM) into your website or another tool consolidates all tracking scripts into one centralized interface, speeds up deployment of analytics and marketing tags, and minimizes reliance on development resources.

GTM’s built-in testing, version control, and security features ensure that data collection is accurate, compliant, and easy to maintain—all without touching your site’s source code.

Now to integrate your Google Tag Manager, here’s what you need to do:

  1. Create a tag manager account and its corresponding container. You can find the steps in Google’s help article
  2. Now, log in to https://tagmanager.google.com/
  3. You will see the list of all your GTM accounts and containers.
  4. Go to the account you have created for your White label app and copy the Container ID from the relevant column.

  5. Now, come back to your White Label set-up page and to the Integrations tab.
  6. Paste the container ID in the given field to complete the integration.

Migration to White Label App

Once all the above steps are completed, you can move to your branded white label app away from SocialPilot.

  1. Now you can migrate to your white label app, which will not have visual traces of SocialPilot’s brand identity. All you have to do now is click on the corresponding button at the top of the page.

  2. In the pop-up that follows, you will see two radio buttons.

    1. If you select Continue with Social Dashboard:
      1. You must reconnect all your social media accounts to your new dashboard again.
      2. You will not see SocialPilot branding and only see the generic name ‘Social Dashboard’ while connecting your Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts.
      3. Account owners will see Social Dashboard when they publish posts on Facebook and X (Twitter).
      4. You will not see SocialPilot branding and only see the generic name ‘Social Dashboard’ while connecting your Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts.
      5. If you have invited your client before white labeling the app, you will need to share a new sign-up link to each client under your own domain.
    2. If you select Continue with SocialPilot
      1. You can avoid any reconnection, and connected accounts and posts will be unaffected.
      2. While connecting a new account in the new white label app, you will see the SocialPilot logo during the login process.
      3. The admin/owner of the page will also see ‘Published by SocialPilot’ on the posts getting shared on Facebook and Twitter.
      4. If you have invited your client in the standard version, you will need to share a new sign-up link to each client under your domain.

Note: If you decide to include Link Shortener, it will not be white labeled even if the whole app is rebranded.

  1. Now, click the Migrate to the White Label App at the bottom of the pop-up.
  2. You will be redirected to your custom domain’s login page, where you can log in using your SocialPilot credentials and get started.

Note: You can migrate to your White Label app without setting up custom email or integrations, as they are not mandatory requirements. You can set these up even after the migration is complete.
