How To Add Subtitles to Video on SocialPilot?

Subtitles enhance the accessibility and reach of your video content by making it comprehensible to a broader audience, including those who are deaf or hard of hearing non-native speakers, and viewers in sound-sensitive environments. They also improve engagement and SEO performance, leading to higher viewer retention and better search rankings.

Here is how you can add subtitles to a video from SocialPilot.

  1. Click on the 'Create Post' button in the top menu
  2. In the 'Create Post' interface, click on the video icon to upload your video file.
  3. Scroll down to the 'Video Subtitles' section below the video upload area.
  4. Click on the 'Add File' button to upload your subtitle file. Ensure your subtitle file is in .srt format, as this is the only supported format.

After uploading the .srt file, select the language of the subtitles from the dropdown menu.

  1. Choose a thumbnail for your video from the available options or upload a custom thumbnail.
  2. Enter the video title and description in the respective fields.
  3. Add any relevant tags, UTM parameters, or additional post settings as needed.
  4. Preview your post to ensure everything looks correct.
  5. Click 'Save as Draft' or 'Add to Queue' to schedule your post for publishing.

Note: Only .srt files are supported for subtitles. Ensure your subtitle file is properly formatted to avoid upload errors.

Note: You can publish videos with subtitles on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. However, there are some limits:

YouTube and Facebook: You can upload up to 4 subtitles files per video.

LinkedIn and Twitter: You can upload just one subtitle file with one video.

Note: Subtitles are only available for Posts and not for Stories and Reels.
