How to Build Custom Reports for a Single Social Media Account?

Introduction

Along with setting up multi-platform reports, you can also customize the analytics for individual accounts under the platform-specific analytics dashboard. The classic analytics dashboard allows you to track the real-time analytics of individual accounts and even generate downloadable and shareable reports from the same space.

How to Create a Custom Report for One Social Media Account?

Here are the steps to create a customizable report for one account:

  1. Go to Analytics in the main menu and select the relevant social media platform.

  2. Select the right account from the dropdown menu on the top-left of the screen and click on Analyze.

  3. Now go to the Edit button and select one of the given options: Edit Report or Create a Copy. 
  • Edit Report: Opting this will let you edit the existing report, which will be reflected for the analytics of this particular account only. You can always return the report to its original state by clicking on Return to Default. Select this option if you want to create a report for a single account only, as this setting does not allow you to add more than one account. 
  • Create a Copy: This option allows you to start creating a new report with this particular account. However, unlike the previous option, you can add more accounts to your report here using Manage. 

Now, you will be able to edit and customize the report as any other custom report. 

How to Add and Customize Report Elements

The custom report builder in SocialPilot offers a range of widgets to display various data types, allowing you to create visually appealing and well-structured reports. 

Drag-and-Drop Metrics

  • Adding Metrics: On the right side of the editing screen, you'll find blocks for metrics. Simply drag these blocks into the main report layout to add them.
  • Arranging and Resizing: You can easily move and resize these blocks to create a clear and organized report layout.

Additional Elements

  • Title Blocks: Use these to add headings and organize your report into sections.
  • Image Blocks: Highlight top-performing posts by adding images to emphasize key achievements.
  • Text Blocks: Include text for context, trend analysis, or campaign insights, providing a comprehensive view of your social strategy.

 Add Accounts

If you have opted the Make a Copy to edit your report earlier, you can add accounts it. Navigate to the right menu and locate Manage and click on it. Now you will see a list of accounts with the one already in the report with a check mark. Select the accounts you want to include in your report and click on Save. 

Fine-Tuning Your Report

There are several additional adjustments that SocialPilot allows you to make to your custom reports. 

Under Settings

Navigate to the gear-shaped icon or Settings icon at the top right corner of the page do access the following settings. 

  • Name: You can rename your report, changing it from the system generated one to a custom one. 
  • Toggle Account Names: Decide whether to display account names, which is useful when reporting on multiple profiles.
  • Enable Comparison Statistics: Add growth or performance comparisons to give more context to the data.

  • Schedule: Set up the automatic sharing of the report to multiple people periodically by scheduling it.

  • Shareable Link: This feature allows you to share reports with anyone, even those without a SocialPilot account. Recipients can view and download the report directly from the link without needing a SocialPilot account, making collaboration and communication seamless. 

Rearranging Pages:

If you require, you can rearrange the default sequence of the pages. Go to the right menu and click on the Pages tab to access the list of pages. There will be an icon with six dots. You can click and drag the pages up or down the queue to alter the lineup. 

You can add new pages to the report as well. Just click on the three dots right in front of any page number to insert a new page after that.  

Previewing, Exporting, and Sharing Your Report

Click on "Live Data" to see the report in its final PDF format. This opens a new tab, allowing you to ensure everything is properly aligned and formatted before sharing. 

 Exporting and Sharing Options

  • Download PDF: Save the report as a PDF for easy offline sharing or printing.
  • Email PDF: Send the PDF copy of the report directly to the inbox your stakeholders.
  • Schedule for Automatic Sending: Set up recurring schedules to send the report automatically, such as weekly or monthly.
