  4. You will also be asked to select where you have to add SocialPilot, Google Sheets, Microsoft Excel, and other apps you find relevant.
  5. Once the setup is complete, you will be redirected to the Zapier dashboard, where you can start creating automated workflows.

How Does Zapier Integration Work in SocialPilot?

Zapier's integration with SocialPilot lets you automate your social media tasks by connecting SocialPilot with various apps. These automation workflows are called Zaps, and they mainly work due to trigger and action events.

A Trigger is an event that starts an automation (Zap), while an Action is what happens in response to that trigger. Setting a single trigger event to execute an action is the simplest automation workflow that can be created in Zapier for SocialPilot.

Here's a breakdown of the available triggers and actions:

Triggers

Events in SocialPilot that start a workflow:

  • New Post With Image Publish Successfully: Activates when an image post (excluding videos) is published to a selected account.
  • New Post Created: Fires when a new social media post is created in SocialPilot.
  • Post Pending Approval: Triggers when a post awaits approval in SocialPilot.

Actions

Tasks Zapier performs in SocialPilot:

  • Add a Text Post to Queue: Queues up a text post to your selected SocialPilot accounts.
  • Add an Image Post to Queue: Queues up an image post to your selected SocialPilot accounts.
  • Add Comment: Adds a comment to a specified post in your SocialPilot account.
  • Approve Post: Approves selected posts in your SocialPilot account.
  • Send Post for Correction: Sends a selected post to your team for correction.
  • Share a Text Post Instantly: Immediately shares a text post to your chosen social accounts via SocialPilot.
  • Share an Image Post Instantly: Immediately shares an image post to your selected social accounts via SocialPilot.

Zapier allows you to combine SocialPilot’s triggers and actions with other apps to automate social media workflows. These include auto-sharing blogs from WordPress, notifying team members for post approvals, tracking and adding posts published via SocialPilot to a spreadsheet, and much more.

Zaps run in the background, saving you time by handling repetitive tasks. With the integration of SocialPilot and Zapier, the scope is endless.

Now, we’ll see how to set up a Zap where you can automatically schedule a post on SocialPilot by adding the content on an Excel spreadsheet.

How to Import Posts Into SocialPilot via the Zapier Integration?

Here is how you can import social media posts from Google Sheets to add them to your posting queue in SocialPilot.

Setting up the Trigger:

  1. On the Zapier dashboard, click on Create and select Zap among the given options.

  2. Now, click on the Trigger box and then pick an app as a trigger (Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel), which will set off the automation.

  3. Make sure to log into the app from where you want to fetch the data.
  4. Select the event for the trigger to get activated. In this case, opt for New Row in Spreadsheet (Triggers when a new row is added to the bottom of a spreadsheet).

  5. Sign in to your app account and click on Continue to proceed.
  6. Now select the spreadsheet and then the workbook where you store your data, and continue.

  7. In a separate tab, go to the spreadsheet you have selected in Zapier and add your social media post and image URL in separate columns.
  8. Now go back to Zapier and click on Test Trigger.

  1. Select the record that you want to post and proceed by clicking on “Continue with selected record.”

Setting up the Action:

  1. Now select SocialPilot as the Action app.

  2. Select a resultant event: Add an Image Post to Queue.

  3. Now, log into your SocialPilot account and continue.
  4. Now you can either select account groups or an individual account you want to set up this Zap for.

  5. Select the Post and Image URL from the list fetched from your app account and then continue.

  6. Check the post data Zapier has fetched and click on Test Step.
  7. Once the test is done, go to your SocialPilot account and locate the post in the Queued Posts list.

  8. The post will be scheduled at the next available queue set for the account.
  9. Now, come back to Zapier and click on Publish to activate the Zap you just created.

There are many more interesting ways to use Zapier to automate your workflows. However, sometimes your Zaps might stop working due to an expired connection. But you can solve this problem in a few clicks.

How to Reconnect SocialPilot to Zapier?

If you have set up Zaps using any SocialPilot accounts, the connection might expire in a few months.

However, you can keep your automated workflow going smoothly simply by reconnecting the account to Zapier in a few steps.

Here’s the flow to achieve a successful reconnection:

  1. Open your Zapier dashboard and select App Connections from the left menu panel.
  2. The account that has lost connection will have a Reconnect button visible beside it.
  3. Just click on Reconnect and follow the subsequent on-screen prompts to re-establish the connection.
